I have worked at the Directorate General for Fishing and the Marine Environment at the Government of the Balearic Islands since 1991, acting as section lead between 2020 and 2022. I then returned to LIMIA (IRFAP) in 2022 as a senior technician. I have been part of several research teams linked to aquaculture, traditional and recreational fisheries management, reproductive biology studies for different commercial species, marine reserve management, health and safety quality for fish and seafood, pathology studies for marine species and regulatory implementation.
In turn, I take part in projects linked to fish biology in commercial species, species reintroduction, fish and mollusc disease detection through histological and molecular techniques, balancing the interests of the traditional and recreational fishing fleets, and mercury content and other contaminants in commercial species.
I am also the head of official monitoring programmes for mollusc production areas in the Balearic Islands.
