Kenz Raouf Samraoui, a PhD candidate in Plant Biology at the Universitat de les Illes Balears and predoctoral Researcher at INAGEA, was part of the winning team in the Climate & Adaptation cluster at the Union for the Mediterranean’s Med Youth Lab 2025 in Tirana. The project, “Seeds of the Future,” proposes a youth-led cultivation program that pairs online training with mentored field plots to grow climate-resilient, traditional crop varieties across Mediterranean communities.
The team wrote a mock project and argued how practical training, farmer mentorship, and agrobiodiversity conservation can translate community climate readiness gaps into employable, hands-on skills for students and recent graduates.
“This recognition shows the impact of writing projects linking academic research with community practice” says Kenz Samraoui.
