
Palma, May 15, 2025 — Dr. Miguel Ángel Miranda, a researcher from the Laboratori Interdisciplinari sobre Canvi Climàtic (LINCC) at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) and affiliated with INAGEA, delivered an insightful seminar titled «Health and Climate Change from a One Health Perspective» this Thursday, May 15, at 8:15 a.m. The event took place in the Auditorium of Son Espases University Hospital as part of the IdISBa-HUSE seminar series.
Key Focus of the Seminar
Dr. Miranda’s presentation explored the critical connections between climate change, ecosystems, and human health under the One Health approach, which integrates environmental, animal, and public health perspectives. His research highlights how rising temperatures, extreme weather events, and shifting ecological conditions in the Mediterranean impact disease transmission, air quality, and food security.

The seminar was organized by the Health Research Institute of the Balearic Islands (IdISBa) and the Son Espases University Hospital (HUSE), reinforcing interdisciplinary collaboration in addressing climate-related health challenges.
