Conference: Innovation and Sustainability in Agricultural Soil Management

The Institute for Agri-Food Research and Water Economics (INAGEA-UIB) invites you to the Scientific Outreach Conference on Innovation and Sustainability in Agricultural Soil Management, which will take place on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, in Room 7 of the Guillem Cifré de Colonya building (UIB Campus, Palma).

This event will bring together experts and professionals in the field to discuss key topics such as:

  • Integrated nutrient management and the use of biostimulants.
  • Agronomic strategies based on halophytes for crops like tomatoes.
  • Management and regeneration of agricultural soils, with a focus on health and contamination.

The program includes lectures by renowned researchers, as well as a roundtable discussion with representatives from the agricultural sector.

Detailed Program:

• 10:00 AM | Opening by Dr. José M. Escalona (Director of INAGEA-UIB).
• 10:10 AM | Lecture: Integrated Nutrient Management (Ana Quiñones Oliver and Ana Pérez Piqueres, IVIA).
• 11:10-11:30 AM | Coffee break.
• 11:30 AM | Lecture: Effect of Halophyte-Based Agronomic Management on Tomato (José A. Hernández Cortés, CEBAS-CSIC).
• 12:15 PM | Lecture: Management and Regeneration of Agricultural Soils (Daniel Sacristán Moraga, UV).
• 1:00 PM | Roundtable discussion with experts and sector representatives (ASAJA, APAEMA, UV, CEBAS, IVIA).
• 1:30 PM | Closing remarks by Dr. José M. Escalona.
